The cheapest ways to get a passport photo

  1. Take it at home, free. A plain white wall, light from a window in front of you, glasses off, and someone else holding the phone. Then check it before you print it. Free passport photo checker
  2. Print it as a 4×6 photo. Two 2×2 photos fit on one 4×6 print at 300 dpi. A regular 4×6 print at CVS, Walgreens or Walmart usually costs under $0.50.
  3. Check your AAA membership. Some AAA clubs include passport photos for certain members.
  4. Don't pay twice for the digital copy. Renewing online needs a digital file. Walgreens includes one by email; at CVS it's extra; at FedEx Office you choose prints or a USB.

How we check these prices

We read each price on the company's own website, not on blogs, and link to that page. When a page doesn't say something (how many prints, a USB price), we say so instead of guessing. We re-check every month.
