Which background should you pick?
The background decides where a photo works. Here are all 27 we make and where each fits best. Tap "Start with this" and your photos start on that background; you can mix several in one order before you pay.
For LinkedIn
Your photo shows as a small circle, often on a white page. A plain mid-tone backdrop or a softly blurred office keeps your face the brightest thing in it.
For a CV or résumé
In the US most résumés go without a photo; in Latin America and much of Europe a CV photo is common. Keep it plain and light: it prints well in black and white and crops cleanly to a small square.

For a team page
Pick one background for everyone, so the page looks like one team. A neutral studio is the safest; a garden or a sunlit wall feels warmer.
For print and frames
Badges, business cards and programs want a plain light backdrop that survives cheap printing. For a frame on the wall, a painted or dark backdrop looks like a portrait studio.
For a website or personal brand
Here you can stand out: a bold color that matches your brand, warm lights in a lobby, or a conference stage for speakers.

Questions
What's the best background for LinkedIn?
A plain light grey or soft blue backdrop, or a softly blurred office. LinkedIn shows your photo as a small circle on a white page, so a mid-tone background keeps your face the brightest thing in it. Busy scenes get lost at that size.
White or grey background?
Grey for online profiles: pure white blends into white pages. White for ID badges, a CV photo and anything printed, where it reads cleanest.
Can I mix several backgrounds in one order?
Yes. Every plan makes several looks: pick a few backgrounds and outfits before you pay, and we make the combinations up to your plan's number of looks.
Can I use my brand color?
Yes: pick the custom color and enter your brand's color, or choose one of the bold colors. Teams can also use a photo of their own office or their company name on the wall.
Should my whole team use the same background?
Yes: one background for everyone makes a team page look like one team. Team orders set the background and outfits once for everyone you invite (proudlook.com/teams).
Do outdoor backgrounds look fake?
They're softly blurred, the way a portrait lens blurs what's behind you, with the light matched to the scene, so you stay sharp and the background stays quiet.
Can I get black and white?
Yes. The Black & white backdrop is made for it, and every plan also includes black and white versions plus 5×7 and 8×10 print sizes.
