The checklist
- How many4 at least; 6 or more for the best likeness; up to 10. More varied photos teach the AI your face better.
- The mix2 or 3 close-ups (head and shoulders), 1 from the waist up, and the rest any recent photos where your face is clear.
- The lightDaylight, facing you, by a window. Best from different days and in different light.
- Just youNobody else in the photo, not even at the edge. Crop a group photo first, or better, pick another.
- Your face in viewNo sunglasses, caps or hats, masks or hands over your face.
- Recent photosFrom about the last year. Photos from years ago teach the AI a face that isn't yours anymore.
- No filtersNo beauty mode, filters, pictures made by other AI apps or screenshots: the AI learns from what it sees.
- One trickArm's-length selfies can stretch your face. A photo taken by a friend, or with your phone's 2× lens, gives the best likeness.
Why variety beats a good camera
The AI learns your face from what your photos have in common. Different days, angles and light show it what stays the same (you) and what changes (the room, the light). Five copies of one selfie teach it that selfie, shadows included.
What you wear doesn't matter: you pick outfits and backgrounds in the app. Wear your usual glasses if you always do, and show your hair the way you wear it now.
Everyday phone photos, not studio shots. Real customers, shown with permission; some received a discount or free headshots for sharing.
If your headshots don't look like you
- It's almost always the photos: one with someone else in it, a filter, a very old one or poor light.
- Swap the ones the upload page flagged, and add two or three in daylight facing you.
- If you order and there isn't one you'd use, you get a full refund within 7 days, even after downloading.
Files from any phone
JPG, PNG and iPhone HEIC photos all work: choose several at once from your camera roll or, on a phone, take them with your camera right on the upload page.
Ready? Choose your photos
The upload page checks each photo as it goes in and tells you if one is dark, blurry or has someone else in it.
